Juice can Buddies

Can Buddies

This is a fun way to recycle small juice cans into cute party favors to hold small candies like M&M’s or jelly beans.

1. Wash and dry juice cans. remove tabs.

2. Place your thumbs at front of can 1” from top. Press in until top of can faces forward slightly. Don’t push too far or can won’t sit.

3. For Bear - spray can with Krylon Buckskin spray paint. let dry.

4. For front legs glue 1” tan pom pom at each side at point of bend on front. Glue two pom poms at lower edge of front of can. Glue one pom pom at back for tail.

5. Refer to picture and glue two 1/2” poms above opening to form muzzle.
Glue plastic nose onto muzzle and moving eyes above nose.

6. To make hat, Place a 8 oz. styrofoam cup upside down on a cookie sheet and bake in 325˚ oven for about 1 minute. Cup will shrink quickly so watch carefully and remove when desired size is reached. Paint hat red, leaving brim white. Glue on top of bears head.

7. Glue a white pom pom to top of hat. Glue a miniature package in bears hand and a bow under the chin,

8. For rabbit, Follow instructions # 1 and 2. Spray paint can white.
For legs and tail follow step 4 using white pom poms.

9. For face, follow step 5 using pink pom pom for nose.

10. For ears cut free form ears from white felt. Use pink marker or paint to paint an inner ear.

11. A small straw hat or flowers can be glued on the top of the head.. I also made a carrot from Polymer Clay to glue in one hand.

This is a fun project to do with kids, letting them decide on the decorations for the head or what to have the buddies hold.
